Break It Up!

Remember to break the steps on the path to your dreams into small pieces. Break those into little bits. Then those can be broken into tiny morsels of fun—tasks small enough that you can do them quickly and easily.

It’s such a great feeling to take steps toward your dreams!

Your homework today is to revisit the steps you’ve planned that will take you to your dreams. Break them into small bits, tiny morsels, and even itty bitty drops. It’s absolutely fine to break steps into very small increments—whatever size you need in order to move forward.

You can do it!

I’m so proud of you!

Your Friend and Pep Pal,

You have what it takes to achieve your dreams.

You are the one best equipped and best able to achieve your particular dreams.

Your homework today is to trust in your dreams and believe that you can do it. Then take the next step!

Your Friend and Pep Pal,

Your Greatness

We are all made for greatness. Your greatness does not look like anyone else’s; your greatness is unique to you.

Your greatness may have nothing to do with making millions of dollars. It may not have anything to do with becoming famous. Your greatness may not be about solving one of the problems that has plagued humankind for millennia.

Don’t limit yourself or your greatness to one of these narrow definitions. Break out, open up, and expand your understanding of true greatness so you see yours and step into the fullness of it.

Release your brand of greatness!

Your homework is to be yourself and embrace your unique gifts and talents—release your greatness! Then take the next step on the path to your dreams!

You can do it! Go you!

I’m so proud of you!

Your Friend and Pep Pal,

This Week

“A good plan is like a road map: It shows the final destination and usually the best way to get there.” ~H. Stanley Judd, Writer

Before you start your weekend, take a moment to review your week as well as think about the upcoming week.

Is there anything you’d tweak such doing more to limit your time with people who are downers who make you feel bad about yourself? Do you need to increase your knowledge or brush up your skills in order to take the next step? Do you need to get rid of the time wasters in your life such as mindless TV and spending too much time on social media sites?

What accomplishments did you have this week? What things worked out well for you? What insights occurred to you? What progress have you made?

In looking at the upcoming week, can you find a few pockets of time where you can do a little something extra to help yourself move forward toward your dreams? Can you rearrange your schedule to free up a additional time that you can devote to your dreams?

With these questions answered you can plan a more realistic schedule for the upcoming week.

Why Some People Are Successful

“Always be yourself, express yourself, have faith in yourself, DO NOT go out and look for a successful personality and duplicate it.” ~Bruce Lee (my emphasis added)

Do you ever stop to understand exactly why some people are successful—what they are doing that makes them a success? It seems that others have already done this and it’s spawned a whole industry centered on how-to achieve success.

I’m sure you’ve seen the books, articles, seminars, workshops, and the like, about the habits of effective people, which careers have large salaries, what industries spawn the most millionaires, where to invest, etc..

And all this information is true: successful people do make more sales calls than others, they are in the office earlier, they do continually learn in their field, they are more apt to be better at networking than others, among other skills and habits they employ.

But it isn’t these particular skills that makes them successful. The reason they are successful is because they are fully immersed in their passions.

They discovered their passion by being themselves.

They started out in small areas of their lives by being brave and following their instincts and what they knew to be right and true for them. By doing this, they discovered interests that they then followed. And those interests led them to their passions.

Successful people are so deeply interested in their particular passion, or passions, that they are fixated and obsessed with it. It’s fun for them to learn more about it. It’s a blast for them to study the tiny details about it. When they sleep, they dream about it and they can’t wait to wake up in the morning so they can get back at it. They’re having so much fun that not only do they not care what others think but they’re so focused on the pleasure and satisfaction that they’re getting that they don’t even notice what others are thinking or saying about them!

It’s their full commitment and immersion in their passion that automatically has them studying, making calls, meeting people, brainstorming, and the like, that then catapults them to success.

Your homework today is to be yourself: follow your interests, which will lead you to your passion. Once you find your passion, dive in head first—no holds barred!

You can do it—it’ll be so much FUN!

I’m so proud of you!

Your Friend and Pep Pal,

Be Who You Are

You may as well be yourself; you aren’t very good at being someone else. Even if you manage to pull it off to others, inside you feel like an imposter, or perhaps even a jerk, for lying about who you truly are.

It’s in being who you truly are that you tap into and release your unique brand of genius. And it’s in expressing your genius—another way to say ‘going for your dreams’—that you live the life your soul yearns for and your heart has imagined.

This is the life for which you are destined.

Your homework today is to GO FOR IT! Be totally and completely The Authentic You that you are at this very moment. You will grow and develop and become more skilled and wiser. You and your distinctive style of brilliance will evolve over time, becoming deeper and wider.

At every moment embrace you, be you, express you. This is how you live your life to the full!

Then take your next step!

I know you can do it!

I’m so proud of you!

Your Friend and Pep Pal,

Someone’s Depending On You

A few years ago when I was in one of my first writing classes, I met with the instructor after the lecture because of concerns I had on whether or not I should continue (I was experiencing a lot of frustration and seeing very little improvement).

My instructor asked me if I liked writing—putting aside for the moment all the challenges I was encountering. I answered that I did. She said something that has stuck with me:

“Someone is depending on you to write your thoughts, insights, passions. Whether it’s fiction or non-fiction, someone is desperate for you to get your words out into the world. Your truth will touch them and will help them. But not if you don’t get it down on paper.”

She quirked an eyebrow and left me to ponder….

Your homework today is to take the next step because someone is depending on you! They are desperate for your talents, gifts, skills—your unique genius. You doing this is the only way others will have any chance at all of receiving your life-changing help. Their life is going to be so much better because of you and because you are achieving your dreams.

So, go for it—take the next step now!

You can do it!! You have what it takes—I know this to be absolutely true about you!

I’m so proud of you!
