Negative thoughts: Don’t go there. Just don’t do it. They won’t help you. They won’t make you do better, they won’t bring out the gems within you, they give you peace or happiness or joy.
You won’t ever achieve your dreams with a steady stream of negative thoughts, even that negative thinking disguised as being realistic.
Research has shown that, for whatever evolutionary reason, we tend toward the negative in our mind. Scientist have also discovered that negative thoughts take up more brain space and brain power than positive thoughts.
While on the surface this seems discouraging and even hopeless, the truth is that this is pointing out how vital it is to focus on the positive. Turn it into a habit to look for the gift in all situations. The most powerful thing you can do for yourself is to look for the silver lining and believe that everything is working out for your best.
Your homework today is to help yourself focus on the positive so that you can override and overwrite the negative thoughts and spaces in your mind. Keep a file of uplifting pictures, positive notes from friends and family, mementos of your achievements, pep phrases, power words, and other things that help you shift to positivity.
You can do it—it’s easy and fun!
Refer to this file as often as you need to. Keep a copy of images, phrases, words, handy in a pocket or your purse—or on your mobile device—where you can refer to them frequently throughout the day.
