As I was putting the blueberries into the vegetable wash solution to soak, I was gently running them through my fingers checking for soft berries or ones that were squished. I checked the berries again as I took them out of the wash and rinsed them off, putting the soft ones and squished ones to the side to be thrown away. I did this a third time as I gently laid them out on paper towels to dry and I repeated this a fourth time as I put them in a single layer on trays for freezing.
That’s a lot of checking and weeding out of the inferior berries!
And it got me to thinking….
Even though we might have weeded out our negative thoughts and gotten rid of them, periodically we have re-check our mind. Negative thoughts have a way of coming back; we may have spent years with these and it takes time to permanently change.
Your homework is to be aware of your thoughts today. Note the negative ones that are still in your mind. Also note the experiences that make you sad or feel bad. Now that you have the awareness, be vigilant and don’t let yourself think negatively and don’t dwell on the experiences that make you feel bad about yourself. Being vigilant takes effort but it’s well worth it.
You can do it, I know you can!
