Pep Rally: You Have What it Takes!

You are going to flourish this week, I just know it! Here are a few pep phrases to help you do just that:

You have the DNA of a champion, which means you have been chosen to achieve your dreams and you are qualified to achieve your dreams. WooHoo!

You have what it takes to achieve your dreams, which means you are fully equipped and empowered: You have permission to achieve your dreams and you were born with all the talents and gifts you’ll need to be triumphant. Go you!

You have all the intelligence, strength, stamina, and creativity you’ll need to achieve your dreams, which means you are fully capable of figuring it out and following through to success. Yay you!

You are in the right place at the right time doing the right things in the right way.  WooHoo!

As you move toward your dreams and as you grow and develop your gifts and talents, you’ll have the right keys at the right moment to open the right doors. Go you!

You are a victor; you are an overcomer; you are conqueror; you are a winner. This is just the tip of the iceberg of who you truly are! Yay you!

Your homework today is for the first thing in the morning: Stand in front of your mirror with a big smile on your face as you gaze at yourself. With enthusiasm and energy, say the following pep phrases, emphasizing the italicized words:

Yes I can!

Yes I can!

Yes I can!

Repeat these several times and feel these statements filling up your fuel tank. Let them super-charge you!

Add any other pep phrases, especially ones that strike a chord within you. Note them either on a piece of paper or in your mobile device so you can refer to them throughout the day.

You can do it; you are awesome!

There’s Gold in Them Thar Hills!

Are you “lost” or confused? Are you unsure what to do, what step to take?

In a previous post, we talked about oddball ideas, keeping a notebook of them (click here to navigate to that post), letting them simmer on the back burner of your mind, and periodically reviewing them.

Now’s the time to get out that notebook and go through your ideas.

If you’ve been faithful about capturing them—I’m positive you have been!—I guarantee you that you will find the help you need there. It may not be any one idea in particular, you can probably combine bits and pieces of other ideas and come up with something new that will help you. Or, reviewing your list will start you thinking…and a totally new idea will pop into your mind that’ll be just the one you need!

However it happens, your idea list will help you get your feet back under you, show you the direction to take, and illuminate the next step.

Your ideas are your personal goldmine in them thar personal hills of your’n!

Your homework today is to go through your idea list. Give yourself a chunk of time to do this because you are going to be so excited! New thoughts and insights are going to be popping all over the place. Capture them! Jot them down! Then take action on the ones that are the next step for you!

If you haven’t started an idea notebook, your homework is to start one today—right now! It doesn’t have to be anything elaborate. All it has to be is a reliable system for capturing your ideas, thoughts, and insights, and a system that also allows for the easy access and retrieving of those ideas. That means slips of paper and cocktail napkins are out—unless you are disciplined enough to jot them down in a notebook at your first opportunity!

You can do it!

Moving Forward

Here’s what moving forward looks like: 

~Making changes in what you do every day. 

This means that you can’t keep putting “working on my dreams” at the bottom of your To Do list each day. You’ll never get to it. Perhaps it’s too scary to put this item at the top of your list, so then put it in the middle or some place on the list where you’re more likely to get to it.

Perhaps it creates too much anxiety to work on your dreams for a large chunk of time; it’s too big of a step—too big of a change. Then break the steps down into things you can accomplish in 15 minute increments, or even five-minute increments if that’s what it takes to get you to do them. You’re more likely to do these because they’re easy, quick, and much less threatening.

~When challenges appear, choosing to respond differently.

Instead of going down the road marked “Poor Little Me”, choosing instead the road marked “Rich Little Me”. Whether we want to admit it or not, every challenge has within it a seed for your greatness. There are gifts you’ll receive and strengths you’ll develop that you probably won’t get any other way. So, look for what you do have precisely because of this situation.

~Finding the courage to take the next step, the one after that, and the one after that, no matter what

The victory goes to the person who gets up one more time than they’re knocked down. They’re the ones who, in spite of fears and being unsure, will take one more shot at it. They’ll make one more cold call, visit one more customer, go one more mile.

Since today is the start of a new month, new quarter, and the second half of the year, your homework is to review where you stand on the path to your dreams. Note what needs improvement and tweaking.

Also, take a look at where you’re headed in this second half of the year. Do you need to brush up on your skills? Do you need to go back to school? Do you need to re-configure your course?

Lastly, celebrate! Congratulate yourself for how far you’ve come. Give yourself a standing ovation for still plugging away and still moving forward. Cheer yourself on as you take the next steps. With each one you take, your dreams are getting closer and closer! Yahoo!!
