“Hard work spotlights the character of people. Some turn up their sleeves. Some turn up their noses, and some don’t turn up at all.” ~Sam Ewing
Your homework is to think about this quote in relation to your To Do list. Note which tasks are the ones that you have no qualms about tackling and getting done. Which tasks do you hesitate and procrastinate over? And, which ones are those that you either won’t do at all or you do at such a low level that yield such poor results that you may as well not have bothered?
Think about why you are procrastinating or out-right refusing to do these tasks. What can you do to overcome this? For instance, can you trade tasks with someone or can you pay professionals to do the tasks that are unpleasant?
Also, do you notice a pattern with the tasks that you like to do? Perhaps they all revolve around working with your hands or maybe they all have creativity at their core or the common thread is orderliness. Can you find some of what you do enjoy doing in the tasks that you don’t like doing?
Find a way to get these tasks off your To Do list. They very well could be holding you back.
Go for it! You can do it!
I’m so proud of you!
