When you’re on your path to your dreams, oftentimes you come across situations you have no template for how to handle. Even though you made a plan before you started out, including spending time anticipating shortfalls and obstacles and what to do about them, you may still run across challenges that you hadn’t anticipated.

No worries!

It’s time to channel your inner MacGyver!

List your tools and assets: your intelligence, knowledge, skills, abilities, and talents, as well as resources you have access to such as educational resources, friends and family and others who’ll support you. Include anything else that can help you.

Once you have this list, re-imagine the items. What can you make out of them? What two or three items can you put together to fashion something useful and helpful? Can you break items down and re-combine the things in a new way?

Look beyond what things are to what they could be!

Your homework today is to channel your inner MacGyver as you review a situation or challenge that has been resistant to your efforts to solve it. What would MacGyver do?

Also, as you are reviewing, note the progress you’ve made and the steps you’ve taken this week. Give yourself a pat on the back if you’ve done something inventive and creative, just like MacGyver!

Any amount of progress is praise-worthy, so get out your party hats and streamers and celebrate!

You can do it!

I’m so proud of you!

Your Friend and Pep Pal,

Lauren
