The ability to control my experiences and have them result in happiness, prosperity and success lies in my own mind and my use of it.
Our biggest roadblock to our success is all in our minds. We have habitual ways of thinking about things that happen. WE are the ones that declare something good or bad, helpful or a problem. WE are the ones to make a mountain out of a molehill, to be drama queens, to be prickly pears about situations and other people.
WE are the ones that look at a blooming plant and declare it a beautiful flower or an ugly, nuisance weed.
But it doesn’t have to be that way. As stated in Sunday’s post, Making a Different Choice, we can decide to think another thought instead of our habitual ones—our go-to ones.
Your homework today is to decide to think different thoughts and follow through with that decision. If you find your mind reverting back to the same old way of thinking, gently guide it to more positive, uplifting thoughts. If nothing else, think something different than what you usually think, even if it’s on the negative side of things.
This sounds crazy to advise you to think different negative thoughts but it’s a small step in the direction of getting your mind out of the rut that it’s in. You’ll shake up your mind and make it easier to think new, more positive thoughts.
Take it in baby steps and know that some days you’ll be more successful than others. Keep at it, though, and you’ll soon see progress.
You can do it!
I’m so proud of you!
