We all know to be thankful for what we do have, no matter how humble, unassuming, or seemingly inconsequential. Everything adds up to make us who we are. These also add up to be our talents, abilities, and the base of knowledge upon which we build our dreams.
It’s important to also be thankful for the things we don’t have: the issues we don’t have to deal with, the inabilities and shortcomings that we don’t have to figure out how to compensate for, the lousy cards that Life sometimes deals out that missed winding up in our hands….
Your homework today is to take a moment and be thankful. Nothing is too small, too “stupid”, or too unimportant to be thankful for.
Also, remember to be thankful for what you don’t have to deal with. For instance, you may live in a very modest rental unit, be thankful that you aren’t in over your head with a huge mortgage and facing foreclosure like many people are—perhaps people you know.
You can do it!
I’m so proud of you!
Your Friend and Pep Pal,
PS Happy Birthday, Jay!
