If everything seems under control, you’re just not going fast enough.

~Mario Andretti

I think what Mario Andretti’s quote is saying is that the best way to tell if you are on the path to your dreams is by noting how nervous-scared you are. You’ll also be exhilarated but you’ll also have that nervous-scared feeling.

I don’t think the quote is telling you to move faster than what you’re comfortable with but rather to take the steps that will get you to your dreams. If you’re comfy-cozy, then you’re not taking steps to your dreams! It may give you that nervous-scared feeling but that’s a good thing!

That nervous-scared feeling tells you that you are living outside of your regular template for living—you aren’t doing things or thinking in the same old way. You’re out of your rut! WooHoo!!

Feeling nervous-scared is telling you that you’re challenging yourself. You’re thinking in new ways: doing things you’ve never done before, the type of people you’re meeting is different, and you’re  going places that you’ve never been.

That’s exciting! Yippee!!

Your homework today is to challenge yourself to take steps toward your dreams. You’ll have that nervous-scared feeling, but that’s telling you that you’re headed in the right direction so keep going!

Remember to break the steps into small pieces and little parts and then to break those into tiny bits. This will keep that nervous-scared feeling at a manageable level so that you can still move forward in spite of the feeling.

You can do it, I know you can!

I’m so proud of you. You’re AWESOME!!

Your Friend and Pep Pal,

Lauren
