What I’ve Learned: The Unknown

I know it’s nerve-wracking to strike out into the unknown. It seems like a really good idea to stay put, even though it’s uncomfortable and we’re unhappy. But to stay where we are isn’t the way to enrich our lives.

It doesn’t work.

At all.

The Still Small Voice keeps reminding us that there’s more to life than what we’ve settled for.

It’s okay to move ahead slowly, especially if we’re feeling anxious. Just because we start out slow doesn’t mean we’ll always move slowly. Sometimes we’ll find ourselves in phases that are fun and easy and we can take leaps and bounds rather than tiny jots and teensy specks of steps.

Also, going slowly, especially at first, will give us a chance to catch our breath when confronted with a surprise or something we’ve never seen or experienced before.  Having the moment to pause gives us an opportunity to regain our level-headedness and make a decision based on clear thinking rather than panic and anxiety.

Your homework today is to take a teensy bit of a step, even though you may be nervous and hesitant. Let’s pretend that we’re all holding hands so we don’t feel so alone.

WooHoo!

We can do it—we can all take the next eensy jot of a step!

Yay us!

I’m so proud of all of us!

Your Friend and Pep Pal,

Lauren
