When Duty comes a-knocking at your gate,
Welcome him in, for if you bid him wait,
He will depart only to come once more
And bring seven other duties to your door.
As today’s poem points out, it’s never easier or more convenient to put something off until later. The best time to do a task is right when it appears. If you do decide to put it off, you can be sure the task will become more involved, more complicated, and perhaps even harder to do.
Take a page out of Larry the Cable Guy’s book and git ‘er done!
Today’s homework is to take a look at the tasks and projects you’ve been putting off, telling yourself that it’ll be easier or more convenient, or just better if you put it off until later. Choose one of these tasks or projects and break it into the tiniest increments possible—pieces so small that you are incredibly confident that you can easily do them. Then do them!
Go for it!
You can do it!
I’m so proud of you!
Your Friend and Pep Pal,
