Your Mistakes

Whenever you make a mistake or get knocked down by life, don’t look back at it too long. Mistakes are life’s way of teaching you. Your capacity for occasional blunders is inseparable from your capacity to reach your goals. No one wins them all, and your failures, when they happen, are just part of your growth. Shake off your blunders. How will you know your limits without an occasional failure? Never quit. Your turn will come. – Og Mandino

Your homework today is to apply today’s quote to those steps that are sticking points for you. You are not doing them probably because you think they’re too big, too hard, or too much. This is the same as saying that you’re afraid of making a mistake. Accept that you’ll make mistakes, and do the steps anyway.

Break the steps into small bits and pieces. Not only are they more manageable and less intimidating, but they’ll reduce the scale of the mistake when you make one.

Take action in spite of the mistakes you have made or will make. Take the next step!

You can do it!

I’m so proud of you!

Figuring it Out for Yourself

When hitting a rough patch, it’s important to figure out as much of it as you can by yourself. This is the only way to learn to trust yourself and to build self-confidence. Lack of confidence and lack of self-trust are the main reasons people don’t commit to their dreams and achieve them.

Learning to trust yourself and raising your self-confidence is not something you can learn solely by reading books, attending seminars, having your friends and family encourage you, or wishing and praying. While these things can be great supports and tools, you must get out there and try it for yourself.

Will you make mistakes? Of course!

Will you gain invaluable experience and sharpen your skills? Of course!

Will you live to tell about it? Of course!

Is your homework for today going to be me telling you to try a step that you’ve been putting off? Of course! 😉

You can do it, I’m sure of it! Especially if you break that step into the teeniest tiniest pieces possible so you know for sure that you can do them.

Then do them!

I’m so proud of you!

You Have Wings; You Can Fly!

A bird sitting on a branch is never afraid of the branch breaking, because the bird’s trust is not in the branch, but in its own wings. Always believe in yourself. From a spiritual perspective, that is great advice. We should have great faith in our ability to overcome any challenge that life presents us. – Ron Fox

Today’s quote is an eye-opener for me!

When we hit a snag in the road, many of us—me included!—worry about how bad it’s going to get. We may pray that it doesn’t get any worse than it is at that moment and we often moan about how long it’s going to take to work out of the rough patch.

Thinking like that, though, causes us to miss the point!

Instead of focusing on outer circumstances—the difficulties we’re facing because of the obstacles—turn our focus inward and know that within us lies the keys—the wings—we need in order to conquer our trials.

As today’s quote points out, the important thing isn’t how bumpy or long-lasting the rough patch is, rather the essential ingredient is that we have wings—we have what it takes to overcome the challenge!

So, the next time the track to your dreams becomes rocky, crooked, and steep, remember today’s quote and trust yourself, your talents, and your abilities. They’re your wings; you can fly!

Your homework today is to take the next step—especially the ones that you’ve been putting off because they seem too hard, too big, and too much for you to handle. Break them into teeny tiny jots and tidbits—pieces so small that you can handle them comfortably and confidently. Remember that you have wings; trust that with your talents and abilities, you can fly!

Then do those jots and tidbits!

You can do it, I know you can!

I’m so proud of you!

The man who trims himself to suit everybody will soon whittle himself away. ~ Charles Schwab

Changing who you are in order to please someone else is the quickest way to lose touch with yourself. And it’s guaranteed that you’ll live way below your potential.

You are who you are for a specific reason, for a purpose. It’s up to you to listen to the Still Small Voice within you and to follow the urgings and whisperings of your heart and soul. No one else hears them or sees where they’re leading. It’s up to you to stay true to them.
