With a little more than a week left in 2015, it’s time to gently think about how’d you like 2016 to go for you. It’s more than deciding on accomplishments, planning out goals you want to achieve, and putting items on the To Do list.
It’s all about the quality of your life.
As you’ve been celebrating yourself this month, ideas and yearnings have probably popped into your mind. It’s these ideas and yearnings that need to be incorporated into what you want 2016 to be like for you.
These are the urgings of your heart and soul! These are what will give you the quality of life that you long for! Use these to decide what you want to do, where you want to go, what you want to see, who you want to meet in 2016!
Your homework is to take some quiet time and think about all the things you’ve celebrated about yourself so far this month. As you’re feeling great about yourself, then gently turn your mind to 2016. Jot down a few things you’d like to experience.
No negative thinking!
It’s A-Okay if you have ideas that seem so outlandish. Put them down anyway—and put stars by them! Have faith that even though you don’t know how they’ll come to pass that the Universe sees what you’re writing and It will support you!
Have you taken time this week to celebrate yourself (all it takes is a few minutes)? Have you jotted down the things that you’re proud of and glad about? Are you also keeping notes on the ideas that are coming into your mind?
Have you discovered a pattern regarding the favorite things you like to do to celebrate yourself? Is a direction becoming clear as you review the ideas that are coming into your mind?
Did you detect a better, optimum way for you to do things? For instance I’ve observed when I’m meditating in the morning it’s best to do it while it’s still dark out. When it begins to get light I find that my mind is more easily distracted. When it’s dark I don’t have that visual stimulus so it’s easier for me to focus my mind and keep it on task.
Your homework is to continue celebrating yourself and continue noticing what are your favorite ways to celebrate. Also keep jotting down notes about the ideas that are coming to you. These are clues to what your heart and soul would like to do and the direction they’d like to take you!
I join you in celebrating you because you’re awesome!
Below are quotes that remind us we’re never off track if we stay true to ourselves.
That you may retain your self-respect, it is better to displease the people by doing what you know is right, than to temporarily please them by doing what you know is wrong. – William J. H. Boetcker
In my own deepening understanding of myself I find my capacity to serve others is deepened as well. The better I am at self-care the more genuinely nurturing of others I am able to be. – Mary Anne Radmacher
You have enemies? Good. That means you’ve stood up for something, sometime in your life. – Winston Churchill
A “No” uttered from deepest conviction is better and greater than a “Yes” merely uttered to please, or what is worse, to avoid trouble. – Mohandas (Mahatma) Gandhi
Nothing is at last sacred, but the integrity of your own mind. – Ralph Waldo Emerson
Your homework today is to keep celebrating yourself. And keep noting the ideas that come into your mind. This is all Good Stuff!
Letting go is a big one and we really need to celebrate that you did this!
I’m so proud of you for the times you let go of things that were no longer working in your life.
It’s tough to recognize that they don’t help anymore, especially if it’s a person or a cherished hope or a beloved project or even an item that holds many memories. And it’s tougher still to let go–to walk away or to watch as it drifts out of sight.
You did it, though!
And, even though you may have had times of sadness, or you may have second-guessed yourself, you stuck to your principles and did not reach back for it. You let it stay gone.
Good for you! You deserve lots of treats and pampering and all sorts of Good Stuff for this one!
And now you have some space in your life–space that’s being filled with the things that do work for you, bringing happiness with them as they help you move forward.
Your homework is to take time to think about when you let go. Feel the relief; feel the openness; feel the energy and enthusiasm that’s welling up–even if it’s just a little bit right now (these feelings will continue to grow). Let these feelings imbue you with their optimism and their strength. You can tap into this and use it to power you forward!
Now, let’s celebrate YOU! I’m honored to join you in celebrating YOU!
We will discover the nature of our particular genius when we stop trying to conform to our own or to other people’s models, learn to be ourselves, and allow our natural channel to open. ~ Shakti Gawain
Let’s celebrate the times when you were yourself–no games, no posturing, no pretending; just the pure you that you are.
It takes guts to do this! And you did it!
This is fantastic because the more you are the pure you, the easier it is for you to hear the Still Small Voice within. And the easier to follow what it’s telling you, where it’s leading. The more you follow it, the more right your life will become.
The really neat thing is that along the way you’ll fall in love with yourself–in a very good and healthy way!
I join you in celebrating the times you were just you. WooHoo!
Your homework today is to check in with yourself and note the things you did this week to celebrate yourself. Have you noticed a pattern? For instance, perhaps you discovered that walking in Nature or reading a few chapters in a good book were particularly enjoyable ways to celebrate. Jot this down in your notebook!
As you review your week, do you notice that sometimes you don’t really follow through with celebrating? Do you tell yourself that you’ll do it later only to find that one thing or another has gotten in the way? If this is the case, perhaps it can be helpful to think of treats that are a better “size” for the time you have available. For instance, if you only have a few moments in the day for treats and celebrations, perhaps you can sit for a few minutes with the sun on your face, or you can take a few moments to look at family photographs, or perhaps you can read affirmations and other messages that inspire and uplift you.
You can do it!
Now, join me in celebrating all the good things you’re doing for yourself! You are awesome!
