I’m sure you visited some fascinating places this year.
You may not have gone there in person but perhaps you listened as a friend described their vacation, or maybe you read a book about a faraway land.
And, the exciting place may not have been a physical location at all. Places that take you out of your routine can be as simple as new ways of thinking and new ways of looking at your life. It can be insights and ideas that pop into your mind. Interesting places can be education, learning a new skill, or brushing up an old one. New places in your mind can also be focusing on uplifting thoughts, being curious and following that which captivates your imagination.
When you go to different places in your mind, then your life changes. As your life changes you begin stepping into the life of your dreams.
Your homework today is to take out your notebook and your pen or, if you prefer, your computer or voice-to-text device—whatever works best for you to capture those thoughts and put them down in a place and in a way that they are easily retrievable.
Think about the places that you’ve gone this year—actually physically traveled to as well as the ones you went to in your mind.
Ideas, insights, discoveries; new interests and passions; fascinating facts and surprising yourself with new talents. These all add up, all come together to move you into the life of your dreams.
Keep in mind that you don’t have to go to some exotic locale to have a profound adventure. It could be something as simple as finding a bench in a park that offers you privacy for quiet moments and also allows you to immerse yourself in Nature.
Congratulate yourself on getting out of your comfort zone, especially if you’re thinking new ideas! Applaud yourself for the ways in which you challenge, encourage, and help yourself step out of your comfortable routines and habits.
Think about this and feel good about it for the first few minutes when you wake up in the morning and the last few minutes before you go to sleep at night. Let it sink into your mind, get into your subconscious.
Hold these in your mind throughout the day, especially if you’re feeling a little low or unsure of yourself. Refer to this list and remind yourself that you are doing well, you are making progress; that you are a good person and that you do have value and worth. Remember that your dreams are important.
You can do it, I know you can!
I’m so proud of you!
Your Friend and Pep Pal,
