Your homework today is to check in with yourself and note the things you did this week to celebrate yourself. Have you noticed a pattern? For instance, perhaps you discovered that walking in Nature or reading a few chapters in a good book were particularly enjoyable ways to celebrate. Jot this down in your notebook!
As you review your week, do you notice that sometimes you don’t really follow through with celebrating? Do you tell yourself that you’ll do it later only to find that one thing or another has gotten in the way? If this is the case, perhaps it can be helpful to think of treats that are a better “size” for the time you have available. For instance, if you only have a few moments in the day for treats and celebrations, perhaps you can sit for a few minutes with the sun on your face, or you can take a few moments to look at family photographs, or perhaps you can read affirmations and other messages that inspire and uplift you.
