Your homework today is to check in with yourself and note the things you did this week to celebrate yourself. Have you noticed a pattern? For instance, perhaps you discovered that walking in Nature or reading a few chapters in a good book were particularly enjoyable ways to celebrate. Jot this down in your notebook!
As you review your week, do you notice that sometimes you don’t really follow through with celebrating? Do you tell yourself that you’ll do it later only to find that one thing or another has gotten in the way? If this is the case, perhaps it can be helpful to think of treats that are a better “size” for the time you have available. For instance, if you only have a few moments in the day for treats and celebrations, perhaps you can sit for a few minutes with the sun on your face, or you can take a few moments to look at family photographs, or perhaps you can read affirmations and other messages that inspire and uplift you.
You can do it!
Now, join me in celebrating all the good things you’re doing for yourself! You are awesome!
Today we’re celebrating all the times when you said YES!
At least once this year you said “YES!” when all your anxieties were screaming “NO!”
You said yes to trying out that new idea in spite of being nervous or anxious. You said yes to taking a class that was out of your comfort zone. You said yes to attending the event where you knew no one. Probably, you much rather would have preferred sitting on the sidelines but this time you said, “Yes, I’ll give that a try.”
And you did it!
You said yes to meeting people, going places, and doing things that you never thought you do! You challenged yourself to say yes, and you met that challenge like the champion that you are!
Your homework today is to take a moment to let those good feelings infuse all parts of you—your mind, body, soul, and spirit. Let those feelings soak into every little bit of you!
As you’re doing this have your notebook handy so you can jot down any ideas, thoughts, urgings, or gut instincts that come to you. These are all valuable clues for you to investigate!
And now join me in celebrating you because you are rocking this house!!
At least once this year there was a time when your mind was cranky and negative but we you powered through and were pleasant as you did what you needed to do.
At least once this year, there was a time when you felt Big Resistance in the form of worry, fear, anxiety, overwhelm, anger, frustration, tiredness, or other feelings and emotions, but you powered through and you took that little bit of a step anyway.
Your homework is to take out your notebook and jot down these times when you power through. You did it, you absolutely did it! At least once this year you crushed it!
Make sure you take a moment to feel those feelings—how proud you are, how happy you are, how much you love yourself now. Let these feelings infuse you, every cell, every tissue, every atom of your being, your mind, your body, your soul.
Remember to also capture the ideas that are coming into your mind—those ideas and thoughts and yearnings and gut instincts. These are clues leading you a faster, more pleasant and enjoyable way to your dreams.
Ack! I apologize for the delay in getting this to you. I thought I had pressed the Publish button when I uploaded this yesterday.
Today we’re going to celebrate all the times when you just said no.
At least once this year you said no to the old thought patterns, you said no to the old way of doing things, you said no to the old habits and routines, you said no to that person who always seems to push all of his or her work on to you.
At least once this year you just said no to everything that didn’t further your quest to achieve your dreams.
WooHoo! You ROCK!
Your homework today is to jot down the times when you said no.
Also jot down the thoughts, ideas, instincts, urgings, and whisperings that are coming into your mind. Now that you’re focusing on the positive aspects of yourself and in your life and now that you’re celebrating yourself, it’s freeing the Spirit and the Still Small Voice within; they’re a little louder, perhaps a little easier for you to hear! Note what you’re hearing from them—where they’re pointing, where they’re leading you.
Keep this notebook safe because it’s an invaluable tool for you going forward. Not only will it give you clues and information about your True Self, but it’ll also help you feel more confident about yourself and more secure in the steps you’re taking toward your dreams.
The final part of your homework is to sit quietly for a few minutes as you think about the times you just said no. Feel how good you felt about yourself. Let the good feelings infuse every little part of your heart, soul, mind, and body.
Note where you feel it in your body. Does it feel like a warmth in your chest that then spreads out to the rest of your body? Perhaps it’s a tingling sensation, starting at the top of your head and expands all the way down to your toes.
And now join me and celebrating you because YOU ARE TOTALLY AWESOME!
Give yourself credit—and a few pats on the back—for what you know right now that this time last year you didn’t know.
You’ve been gaining knowledge as you’ve moved through this year. You’ve done all sorts of interesting things: you’ve taken classes and seminars and workshops; you’ve read books and magazines; you’ve observed the world around you and let thoughts about it perk in your mind; you’ve talked to people, visited new places, and done new things. Because of all of this and the other things you have done this year, you have more understanding, which gives you greater wisdom about yourself and the world.
With this better understanding and wisdom, you are more able to take the next step toward your dreams!
So, you see! You do have what it takes to gather information, turn it into knowledge and wisdom, and use it to take the next step toward your dreams. You do have the intelligence and smarts to get to your dreams!
Your homework is to celebrate your knowledge, your understanding, your intelligence, your smarts, and your wisdom.
It doesn’t need to be like anyone else’s because you’re not trying to achieve their dreams. You’re achieving your own dreams so all you need is your knowledge, your understanding, your intelligence, your smarts, and your wisdom.
The really great news is that you have all of this and then some! And it’s already packed inside of you. All you have to do is develop it!
