Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark in the hopeless swamps of the not-quite, the not-yet, and the not-at-all. Do not let the hero in your soul perish in lonely frustration for the life you deserved and have never been able to reach. The world you desire can be won. It exists.. it is real.. it is possible.. it’s yours. ― Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged

I love to see a young girl go out and grab the world by the lapels. Life’s a bitch. You’ve got to go out and kick ass. ― Maya Angelou

You can lay down and die, or you can get up and fight, but that’s it–there’s no turning back. –Jon English

There is nothing in this life that can destroy you but yourself. Bad things happen to everyone, and when they do, you can’t just fall apart and die. You must fight back. If you don’t, you’re the one who loses in the end. But if you refuse to give up on yourself and fight back, you always win. –Ritu Ghatourney

There are two ways to go when you hit that crossroads in your life: There is the bad way, when you sort of give up, and then there is the really hard way, when you fight back. I went the hard way and came out of it okay. Now, I’m sitting here and doing great. –Matthew Perry

Just because you fail once, doesn’t mean you’re gonna fail at everything. Keep trying, hold on, and always, always, always believe in yourself, because if you don’t, then who will, sweetie? So keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep smiling, because life’s a beautiful thing and there’s so much to smile about.” ― Marilyn Monroe

Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” ― Theodore Roosevelt

I can’t give you a sure-fire formula for success, but I can give you a formula for failure: try to please everybody all the time.” ― Herbert Bayard Swope

Connect with Divine

Take time today to connect with the Divine. It doesn’t matter what your beliefs or spiritual traditions are. It doesn’t matter if you have not at all.

The cool thing is that you don’t have to have a particular religious practice. You don’t have to be perfect. You don’t have to do any type of ritual. You don’t have to say or think any special or sacred words or phrases.

The completely fantastic thing is, all you have to do is Pause. Stop. Breathe. Notice the moment. See, feel, sense, the Goodness all around you.

Tune into it. Absorb it. Let it infuse you.

And, totally awesome thing is that this takes only a few minutes. AND you can do it ANY where at ANY time!

So it’s easy to do each morning when you first wake, and it’s a snap to do periodically through out your day. And, what an awesome way to end your day.

Fantastic!

You can do this, I know you can!

Night Sounds: Mother Nature’s Lullaby

One of my favorite things to do as I’m falling asleep is to listen to the night sounds. Now that it’s getting warmer and the window is open at night, it’s much easier to hear Mother Nature’s lullaby.

As I’m drifting off to the subtle sounds, the famous line from Robert Browning’s poem often floats through my mind:

“…God is in His Heaven;

All is right with the world.”

~Robert Browning

Whether it’s the sound of crickets, frogs, or gently rain on the roof of your home, let it settle you into a peaceful night’s slumber.

You can do it!

A Matter of Perspective

Today is Friday the 13th. Most people think of it as an unlucky day.  But there are people who think Friday the 13th is a good day–a lucky one, even!

For instance the alumni, students, faculty, staff, and families of Colgate University in Hamilton, New York think every Friday the 13th is a day for celebration. It has to do with the founding of the university (13 men with 13 prayers…).

It’s all a matter of perspective!

Happy Friday the 13th! #ColgateDay

Your Dreams + Action

Dreams come true when desire transforms them into concrete action.  ~Napoleon Hill

Without action, there is no hope of our dreams every coming true. Not in this lifetime and not in this Universe.

We must link action to our dreams.

So I ask you:

What are you dreaming about one day achieving?

It’s great to have dreams. It’s wonderful to dream about being, doing, having what really turns you on–gets your juices flowing and makes a huge grin bloom on your beautiful face.

Dreaming is what adds the spark and verve to your life. Dreams help you discover your True Self and they help you uncover your gifts, talents, and abilities.

Have you taken any steps toward your dreams yet? If not, why not?

You have the raw materials already inside of you. Of course you’ll have to develop them, and that’s part of the fun!  You’ll see just how deep and rich you are!

If the steps seem overwhelming, break them into little bits and pieces, then give yourself a deadline–say, by Sunday night for example–for completing just one little tidbit. Make it as small and as manageable as possible to increase the likelihood that you’ll do it and increase your odds of being successful right off the bat.

Give yourself every chance to achieve your dreams! Stack the deck in your favor by regularly taking little bits of steps toward your dreams!

You CAN do it!
