Yesterday I shared with you a new system I devised to help me set goals. I thought it would be helpful to share some thoughts I have about goal-setting systems.

A System doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to be EFFECTIVE for YOU.

An effective system is one that helps YOU think about all aspects of YOUR life;

A useful system helps YOU become very clear on what’s important to YOU;

A helpful system helps YOU devise a plan for how you’re going to bring into your live those things and experiences that are important to YOU.

A valuable system is one that helps YOU live a life that YOU think is good, satisfying, and happy.

I hope you’re noticing the emphasis on the word YOU! It’s because living our lives is NOT about what anyone else thinks, values, wants, desires, etc..  This is one of the few times when it IS all about YOU!

Start writing down your goals today–either the ones that you made in January or the new, revised ones you’ve decided upon this month.

You can do it!

Your Friend and Pep Pal,

Lauren

PS You may be wondering why the images are of birthday cakes.  Today’s Mom’s birthday!  Happy Birthday, Mom!  I wouldn’t be who I am and where I am in Life without you–thanks!
