What you’re unwilling to walk away from is where you’ll stop growing; that’s where you’ll become stuck. ~Joel Osteen

Wow. Today’s quote made me stop and think.

Oftentimes we think that circumstances are beyond our control and that’s why our lives aren’t improving.

However, there’s always something we can do to help ourselves. When we look a little closer at our lives, we might find that the co-workers we’re sitting with at lunch are negative and complaining and we realize we’ve taken on their thinking.  Or, we may find we’re hanging onto decorations at home that no longer have meaning to us.

But what if it’s too intimidating to walk away from things in our lives, even though we know we must do it and we know our lives will improve if we do it?

Start with small things, small steps.

In looking closely at our lives, we’ll find areas and small things within those areas that we can easily walk away from. Work in these areas.  As we gain confidence, we’ll find that we can then turn to other areas of our life and walk away from things that we can’t walk away from right now.

Give it a try!

Lauren
