Most people are so busy knocking themselves out trying to do everything they think they should do, they never get around to do what they want to do. ~Kathleen Winsor

Most of us can relate to today’s quote because we all have a looooooong To Do list that’s filled with tasks, jobs, and projects. When we take a moment to scrutinize it and really think about the items on the list, we’ll probably find that most of them are driven by what society or marketing experts or other people have told us we should be focusing on.

Where are the items that are important to us?

Oh, those are the ones waaaaaaaaay down at the bottom of the list in that teensy tiny print…that is if they’ve even made the list in the first place!

So, what are we going to do about this? How can we change this so what we think is important is moved up closer to the top of the list?

That’s were a regular practice of silence comes in.

When we take the time every day (ideally) or regularly throughout our week for quiet inward listening, we’ll find that we’ll become more in tune with ourselves. As this happens, we’re more apt to hear and feel the warning bells and the urgings that we give ourselves when we’re feeling out of balance and harried.

As we develop this heightened self-awarensss, our confidence in ourselves, our thoughts, what we want, and our dreams increases and we’re more likely to take action and follow through on what we deem to be important in our lives.

It’s a simple practice that can be done in 15 minute daily chunks. Give it a try and let me know what you think–use the comment section below!

You can do it, I know you can!
