Playlist for the Knot in Your Stomach at the Beginning of the Week

Copyright 2015 Artisans Workshop Designs

I have a friend who’s in a high-pressure job and she wakes on Monday mornings with her stomach knotted with anxiety and dread. I asked her how she gets herself out of bed and moving forward because I thought you’d like to know (me, too!).

Just to let you know, several of these selections are Christian in nature, however, my friend says that sometimes things are just too big for us to handle alone so we have to turn to some One much, much larger.

Here are a few of the she turns to. I hope they help you, too:

Let it Be as sung by The Beatles

Covered by Your Grace as sung by the Planetshakers

Pie Jesu as sung by the ChoirBoys

Precious Lord Take My Hand as sung by Elvis Presley

It is Well with My Soul as sung by Sovereign Grace Music

Amazing Grace as sung by Noteworthy

Your Friend and Pep Pal,

Lauren

  1. What about changing the job instead of ‘coping’ with it by listening to music? I totally realize that easier said than done but still… I believe everything can be solved if you are willing to do so.

  2. Thank you for your comment, Marta Frant! Yes, so true that it’s better to make the necessary changes instead of coping or enduring or surviving. A group of us had dinner together last night and my friend was there. The good news is that she announced that she’s leaving the high pressure job and starts a new one next week in a new-to-her field. Yay! Thank you again for your comment, Marta Frant!
