You have what it takes!
You are fully loaded with all the raw materials–the talents, abilities, gifts, native intelligence–you’ll need to achieve the soul-prospering life you dream of.
Like all of us, there are some things you’re naturally good at. You may not need to practice that much in order to have above average skills and performance. But, like all of us, there are other things you aren’t very good at. Although you’re interested in the activity, you have to work at it. That’s okay! Roll up your sleeves and develop your skills and abilities in the area of this particular interest.
Just because you aren’t immediately and naturally good at a task or activity does not mean you don’t have a talent or ability in this area. If you have an interest, then there is a skill or talent inside you that corresponds to this interest.
Sure, others may be naturally talented and “better than” you, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t or aren’t allowed to pursue your interest to the fullest that you can. Think of Michael Jordan and Larry Byrd, both Hall of Fame basketball players. It’s clear that Michael Jordan is more naturally talented than Larry Byrd but because of Larry’s unrelenting dedication and his incredible practice ethic, he, too, was a top player in the NBA–right alongside Michael Jordan–and was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.
Whether or not you become the equivalent of a Hall of Famer as have Larry Byrd and Michael Jordan, you can still develop your latent abilities and talents as much as you can and all the while enjoy them to the fullest extent.
It’s all about the enjoyment you give yourself, your loved ones, and others around you. It isn’t about being famous, it’s about enjoying who you are and sharing that with others.
You CAN do this because you DO have what it takes!
Your Friend and Pep Pal,
Lauren
