Home Stretch 2017: Habits and Routines

As we’re setting ourselves up for a great finish to 2017, let’s take a moment to review our habits and routines.

On Monday, we took time to select one or two goals we want to achieve by the end of the year. We created visualizations for these ultimate goals as well as the baby step goals between where we are now and where we’ll be at the end of the year.

On Tuesday, we devised affirmations that support our journey to our goals–our ultimate goals as well as our baby step goals.

As we did this, we may have discovered ourselves bumping up against habits and routines that aren’t congruent with our visions and affirmations–our habits and routines aren’t really serving us.

For instance, let’s say you want to take your woodworking hobby to the next level–you want to earn a little money from it. To do this, you’ve identified a few holiday fairs where you could sell your handcrafted ornaments, decorations, and toys.

But, instead of working for an hour after dinner building an inventory of items, you plop down on the couch and turn on the TV….

This kind of scenario isn’t going to help us finish 2017 on a high note!

Let’s take a look at our habits and our routines and identify the ones that are not helping us get closer to achieving our ultimate goals–and may not be helping us achieve our baby step goals either!

Start small with changing your habits and routines. In fact, choose only one to change–the one that will make the biggest impact on moving you forward. It could be something small such as for three mornings each week, getting up 15 minutes earlier and reading or meditating. Or, it could be that twice a week at lunch, you take 15 minutes to write an email to an expert or to your mentor.

These baby steps will add up and you will achieve your ultimate goals!

I believe in you!

Your Friend and Pep Pal,

Lauren
