It’s a common human trait to sometimes think that we’re all alone, that no one has ever experienced what we’re going through, and that we have to “do this” all by ourselves because no one can or will help. If 2020 has done nothing else, it has smashed all these “stinkin’ thinkin'” thoughts–at least for me.
I have been astonished at how my family and friends have pulled together like never before to help each other and to make sure everyone is okay.
And I am still speechless over the many strangers who graciously, without hesitation, jumped in to help a beloved family member when I was unable to get there.
It’s been breathtaking–and eye-opening!
The following are ongoing gratitudes for me but I want to share them with you as my 3 gratitudes for today:
- My family who have always stuck by me;
- My friends who have always been there for me;
- Strangers who have helped when family and friends weren’t able to.
Are there experiences you’ve had this year that have touched your heart and soul? In the comments below, please share them as your gratitudes. Thank you!
I am grateful for YOU!

Lauren
In line with what you’ve said above, one of the things I love most about this season is that everyone is happy and people are inclined to go out of their way to be kind to each other!
1) Kindness of others
2) Creative holiday celebrations (work just did a drive-in movie instead of a Christmas party)
3) Thinking of gifts to send to family that I think they’ll enjoy! =)

Hi Vanessa!
I agree with you that on the whole people are doing their best to be kind and helpful. I try to keep that in mind particularly when someone is being cranky or uncooperative–you never know what heartaches someone might be dealing with.
Holiday celebrations are wonderful. I’m so glad the people at your work put their thinking caps on and came up with clever ways to celebrate while still keeping co-workers safe.
I agree that it’s exciting to shop for gifts for loved ones and friends. It’s great fun to anticipate their joy when they receive the gift!
Thank you again for sharing, Vanessa. I appreciate it very much!

Lauren
