Sometimes you have to let go and let the chips fall where they may.

There have been times in my life when I’ve worked very hard on a project.  I’ve made my way through problems and challenges, I’ve pushed through setbacks and obstacles.  After all that, sometimes I’ve found that I[m still struggling.  When I realize this, it’s time for me to consider just letting go and letting the chips fall where it may.

This doesn’t mean I give up or walk away.  Instead it means I pause and take a step back and just observe.  When I’ve done this sometimes things begin to work out on their own and I can see where to step in and help.

Other times when I take a step back and observe, it gives me a slightly different perspective and I might see a different path that was obscured before.    If nothing else pausing, stepping back, and observing gives me a break from the project.  Rest is always a good thing and can be very helpful.

How do you know when to let go and let the chips fall where they may?  When you feel that you’ve hit a wall, when you aren’t making progress, when you feel like you’ve tried everything, when you’re spinning your wheels.  When this happens, let go.

Do you have other techniques that you use when you feel you aren’t making progress?  Please share in the comments below.  Thank you!

Lauren
