In spite of where you may be right now, you have a big, bright future ahead of you.
Things are working out for your highest and best good. It may not seem that way because where you are and what’s happening is not how you imagined or intended it. Keep letting go of the past, keep an attitude of expecting that everything is working out in your favor, and keep moving forward.
Have your eyes peeled for the gift, for the advantage, for the wisdom, for the strength, for the compassion that is coming to you precisely because you are having to dig deep. As crazy and unbelievable as this sounds, everything is in your favor.
Your homework today is to look for the favor, look for the advantage! Your highest and best good is right there for you. Take it. Use it to help you take the next step.
You can do it, I am absolutely positive that you can. Go you!
I’m so proud of you and happy for you. You’re doing it! So exciting!
Here are a few quick pep-uppers that I’ve found helpful:
~Babies and children playing, laughing, and having a good time—some of the best sounds in the whole world! For me, this is a no-fail way to feeling better. It’s guaranteed to bring a smile to my face and remind me that all is basically right with the world. If you don’t have children of your own or there aren’t children in your neighborhood, then the Internet is a good source of videos of babies laughing.
~Beautiful scenery. Sometimes I’ll take a drive through pretty areas of my town and the surrounding area. If I can’t do this, then images and videos on the Internet of beautiful landscapes are a good substitute. Oftentimes these are paired with inspiring music and uplifting messages. Also, your library has many books of beautiful images that you can borrow using your library card!
~Silly antics of people and pets. I can recall lots of goofy things I’ve done over the years that will get me smiling and laughing in no time. If you can’t think of anything for yourself then, once again, the Internet to the rescue! There are loads of these kinds of postings on the Web!
~Music I enjoy. It’s helpful to pair this one with movement, even simply tapping your toes or bobbing your head. The movements don’t have to be dance steps; small, free-form movements are just fine!
~Pep words and phrases combined with movement. This gives them a kick that you don’t get otherwise. Here are a few pep phrases that get me through the moment: This, too, shall pass; All is well; Just one more step; Yes to me; Let it go; I am still me; keep going; There’s more to me than this. Here are a few pep words: Strong; Vibrant; Smart; Zest; Vim and vigor; Yes/No (depending upon the situation); Thank you; Grit; Zip-a-dee-doo-dah.
~Making sure I’m warm enough—or cool enough. This sounds surprising but I’ve found that sometimes my mood can be improved by putting on a sweater or sitting in front of a fan or air conditioner—even if I didn’t think I was feeling chilly or too warm! An unconventional solution, I know, but it has helped!
Your homework today is to try some of these techniques when you need a lift. Also, make a list of things you like to do that help you feel better. Keep the list handy for those times when you need a pep-upper!
You can do it, I’m sure of it!

It’s a beautiful day today! Get out there and enjoy it!
As you’re working toward your goals and dreams, one very important step is to regularly take time to rest, relax, and rejuvenate. It’s a way to press the reset button when you’re feeling overwhelmed, harried, frustrated, discombobulated, discouraged, and other agitation-causing feelings and emotions.
It doesn’t matter if it’s sunny with spring-like weather or if the weather is an arctic cold front or if it’s something in between. Each type of weather and day has its own beauty and a gift to give you.
Your homework is to take the next step, which is enjoying this beautiful day. If it’s inclement weather you can play games with your friends and family or you can snuggle up with a good book. Also, you can make a big bowl of popcorn and settle down to a movie marathon of your favorite films.
On a nice day you can get outside and play catch or Frisbee; you can take a nature walk by yourself or with friends and family. You can also sit under a tree or beside a stream and enjoy a good book. And don’t forget about enjoying a meal at an outdoor café with friends and family!
So take the next step of enjoying this beautiful day!
You can do this, especially because this is easy and fun!
