We’ve finished the first week of February. WooHoo! You did it! Yay you!
Congratulations for sticking with this! Good job on taking steps especially when you didn’t want to or didn’t feel like it or if you were frightened. By consistently taking regular steps no matter what, this is how you build strength and resolve. This is how you build steadfastness and determination. This is where grit comes from. All these things are learned skills that get better and better with practice. It isn’t any different than the hours you put in with your hobbies learning new skills and techniques and re-inforcing the ones you already do well.
You are awesome! Celebrate that!
The first part of your homework today is to do a spot check and see how you’re doing.
Are you having trouble with any of the steps? Do you need to break them down into smaller bits, or perhaps you need to rename them? Did your resistance get the better of you so you kept putting off taking steps, waiting (hoping) for a day when you felt better? Re-read the post on permission and approval. Also, do some mirror work to bolster your confidence and resolve.
Are there some of the homework assignments that sounded interesting but you haven’t had a chance to do? If so, take a moment now to do them. Is there an assignment or two that resonated with you? If so, take a few moments to do them again.
Perhaps you didn’t have much time as you thought you would. Take a look at your weekly schedule. Are there tasks you can delegate? Are there ones you can say “no” to? Can you shift things around and find pockets of time for pieces of steps?
Take a look at your upcoming week and identify time you’ll devote to taking steps and moving toward your goals and dreams. Of course taking action every day is best, but it’s just fine if you have just a few moments a few days a week—or only one day—to devote to achieving your goals and dreams. As long as you’re regularly and consistently devoting time to your forward progress, you will achieve your dreams.
The second part of this homework is to CELEBRATE! It doesn’t matter if you just thought about your goals and dreams or if you made huge strides this week. Celebrate what you did do—especially the small increments of forward movement. It’s on the back of small, tiny steps that the road to your goals and dreams is paved.
You can do it, I know you can!
Congratulations again! I’m so proud of you; you’re making great progress! Post below the successes and achievements you’ve had this week—I want to celebrate with you!
