30 Days of Gratitude to Finish 2020: Day 10

I was out very early this morning grocery shopping for a beloved family member.  It was still dark and I was able to see a few stars.  I was awe struck by the beauty of Venus with the crescent Moon.  Majestic!

Little did I know the best was yet to come!

When I finished shopping and stepped out of the store, I was stunned.  The air was tinged with rose from the deep pink of the rising sun!  Not only were the clouds in the East painted with Mother Nature’s sunrise reds and pinks, but even the clouds in the West had a rosy glow to them.  The beauty was astonishing!

I’ll bet you can guess what my 3 gratitudes are!

  • The serene peacefulness of the very early morning;
  • The spectacular sunrise;
  • The sun peeping out from behind the clouds during the day.

What are your 3 gratitudes today?  I’d love to hear them so please share in the comments below.  Thank you!

Your Friend and Pep Pal,

Lauren

PS  Yes, today’s picture is one I took this morning.  It occurred to me as the spectacular show was ending that I should take a picture with my phone!

  • My spiritual practice—that I had the presence of mind to develop one and that I’ve had the persistence to stick with it over the years;
  • The many books and resources that help me deepen my spiritual practice;
  • The many people I have joined in prayer, meditation, and study and how all of us were supported, nurtured, and blessed in the process.

It’s a common human trait to sometimes think that we’re all alone, that no one has ever experienced what we’re going through, and that we have to “do this” all by ourselves because no one can or will help.  If 2020 has done nothing else, it has smashed all these “stinkin’ thinkin'” thoughts–at least for me.

I have been astonished at how my family and friends have pulled together like never before to help each other and to make sure everyone is okay.

And I am still speechless over the many strangers who graciously, without hesitation, jumped in to help a beloved family member when I was unable to get there.

It’s been breathtaking–and eye-opening!

The following are ongoing gratitudes for me but I want to share them with you as my 3 gratitudes for today:

  • My family who have always stuck by me;
  • My friends who have always been there for me;
  • Strangers who have helped when family and friends weren’t able to.

Are there experiences you’ve had this year that have touched your heart and soul?  In the comments below, please share them as your gratitudes.  Thank you!

I am grateful for YOU!

Your Friend and Pep Pal,

Lauren
