Renegades Part 3

We’ve talked a lot about renegades and people making drastic and extreme decisions in order to live the life of their dreams. We’ve also talked about people who made less drastic but still tough decisions in order to live the life of their dreams.

Yesterday I shared with you a few stories from my own family history as well as the family histories of my friends where ancestors stepped out of the role that was expected of them and did something very different.

You, too, have this frisky DNA within you!

I know I’ve said that to you in several posts this week and it’s important enough to keep repeating.

Many times we come across rough patches, challenges, and seemingly insurmountable barricades. We think we’re the only ones this has happened to and that there’s no happy solution.  Our ancestors hit roadblocks and had to deal with heartbreaks, too.  They, too, suffered “dark nights of the soul” when they couldn’t turn back but yet there seemed no way forward.  We can see from the perspective of time that they managed to work things out.  Since they did it, we can do it, too!

It’s helpful to know that other people came across difficulties similar to what we’re facing and figured a way to overcome them. But it’s immeasurably helpful that we can look at our own family tree and see the real, tangible proof that our own relatives managed to work things out, too.  It makes the “you can, too” statement more real and believable rather than hearing a story about someone you don’t know.

What are your family success stories? Write them down and keep them handy so that you can refer to them when you need a boost!  And, feel free to share them in the comments below!

You have wonderful DNA, thanks to your feisty relatives!
